All About What’s Behind How To Coffee

How To Coffee is about making and enjoying coffee

ABOUT US: More than 10 years ago, while on the Island of Borneo, I came across the best coffee I have ever had. I couldn’t believe how AMAZING it tasted. As I walked down to the restaurant the smell of coffee was everywhere in the hotel and the smell was intoxicating.

Out off to the side of the patio, there were a couple of guys roasting coffee beans and another hand grinding, what I incorrectly assumed was, freshly roasted coffee. More on that later. The taste was so smooth and almost sweet with hints of fruit. I couldn’t believe it. It was so different from anything I had ever tasted. At that point, I had never really had any legit coffee…other than Starbucks.

The hotel I was staying at had an afternoon “class” on how to correctly make a great pot of coffee. The class wasn’t much more than how to grind coffee for a french press and water temperature for the coffee, but that was all I needed. I was hooked. Hooked on good coffee. I’m sure I annoyed the guy who was giving the class to our small group of tourists with all my questions. That afternoon began my love for coffee.

With my site, I just want to share some of the info I’ve picked up about coffee and share it with you.

Thanks for checking out my site. I do really appreciate it. If you have any comments, questions, or something you would like to share you can drop me a line over on the contact page.

Here at How To Coffee I try to follow some simple advice I was once given about coffee … “Try as much as you can and try to enjoy each cup more than the last one.” I like making a good cup of java, but love trying all different kinds. My goal with this site is to share some simple ways for you to make a better cup of the black stuff. You don’t have to have the best beans or the best coffee maker to make a great cup of joe. All you really need is a little bit of know-how. My goal here is to share as much knowledge as I possibly can.

I am definitely not a professional, but my love for this stuff led me to learn more and more about it. It’s often the simplest things that have led to me making better cups of coffee. Good quality gear and beans definitely help, but it’s the fundamentals and consistency that keep the best coffee brewing. When it comes to gear and beans there is as much bad and low quality as there is high quality. My second goal is to share what I think is good quality coffee beans and gear as well as what isn’t. From french presses and drip coffee makers to cappuccino machines and everything in between, I’ll go over how they work and do my best to guide you toward what is going to work best for you.

From french presses and drip coffee makers to cappuccino machines and everything in between, I’ll go over how they work and do my best to guide you toward what is going to work best for you. Learning how to make a good cup of coffee shouldn’t be difficult and I want to make it easy for you. The great thing about learning how to make a great cup of java is getting to share it with your family and friends.  Overall, it doesn’t matter what kind you like or how you like it. All that matters to me is that you enjoy the best cup of java you can make with what you have.  I appreciate you stopping by How To Coffee and remember to always be brewing more!
